Khan Sir gets interim protection from arrest in firing case

In a major legal relief for popular educator Faisal Khan, widely known as Khan Sir, a Patna district court on Tuesday granted him interim protection from arrest. The order was passed by the District Judge's court during a hearing on his anticipatory bail application. While the court protected the educator from immediate punitive action, it explicitly clarified that the police are fully authorized to question him and continue their investigation into the matter.

The legal development stems from a violent clash that occurred on June 2, when a mob of 15 to 20 individuals vandalized the premises of Khan Global Studies (KGS) in Patna and resorted to stone-pelting. Following the chaos, a video surfaced on social media showing security personnel associated with the institute firing shots. In response, the Kadamkuan police registered an FIR, detained two guards, and confiscated their weapons for forensic examination. Both security guards currently remain in judicial custody.

The investigation has sparked a bitter feud between competing educational hubs in the city. Khan Sir initially alleged that the orchestrated attack on his center was masterminded by individuals running a rival coaching institute. Conversely, the rival group hit back, claiming that Khan Sir staged the entire vandalism and firing episode to gain public sympathy. Denying all conspiracy charges, Khan Sir approached the court seeking anticipatory bail.

During Tuesday's proceedings, the district court reviewed the case diary and the evidence compiled by the police before granting the interim shield to the educator. Meanwhile, the court has reserved its final judgment on the bail application of Roshan Anand, another co-accused named in the case. The interim protection will remain in force until the court delivers its final verdict on the bail matter.
